An intimate “knowing” involves a life change. It involves soaking in God’s words to us, printed in the Bible. It involves prayer, listening to God, who is present with us. It means cultivating community with other believers. It means coming to the startling realization that God’s purposes for you form part of His plans for the world.
Spend 20 weeks growing in intimacy with God and learn how to apply what you are learning. The final 8 weeks are spent on outreach, most likely in a different culture, applying all that you have learned. You will do this in a community, a family really, of people who also long to get to know God better, become more like Jesus, and discover God's purpose for them. Psalm 55:22

Live your life with purpose. Get on a course that will change your life and those around you. Train in a Live/Learn environment where you get equipped to practice hearing God's voice, walk in your spiritual authority and find what God has called you to do.
DTS is designed to help set free the man or woman God created you to be. You will learn to hear God's voice personally, and will be challenged to discover your God-given purposes.

DTS is an adventure that will take you to the ends of the earth and go the extra mile to reach those unreached by the gospel, mercy and justice. Continue your transformation on a trip to the Philippines and other locations where we go to those in need on a life-changing journey where you can expect the unexpected.
Part of nearly every YWAM school is the opportunity to apply what you have learned on outreach locally and around the world. YWAM has three main pillars: evangelism, discipleship (training), and mercy ministries. We hope to reach the last, the lost, and the least with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

DTS is a five to six-month program blending classroom learning, small group activities, personal reflection, practical service, and community living. This one-of-a-kind missionary training is designed to set you free to love God and your neighbor with everything you have and are.
The Discipleship Training School (DTS) gives you an opportunity to discover your passions and your part in God’s purposes for the world. It is for those who long to follow Jesus in new ways, with a different perspective. It is to discover the strategy for life - living in God's presence.

In the lecture phase, your focus will be on knowing God, God's Word, and God's world. You will seek transformation, a renewed mind, and personal growth. You’ll learn not only from teachers, but also from community living and practical ministry training.

Through this two month outreach you will have the opportunity to see the fruit that was grown during the lecture phase as you love others in the name of Jesus. As you travel overseas you'll experience cultures and belief that will reveal another aspect of God's love.
